Yippee..i'll dance to that!
So glad you will be in the hands of a very competent uro...believe me they will straighten this out.
Also there are several "Wellness Communities" in Illinois..Northbrook, Palatine......and so on...you can look one up thats close to you. They provide counciling for all cancers and if you're having problems with getting to the appt. or whatever...they can help you. Check it out on the internet or tell me where you are and i'll find the center.
I'm so grateful you are going to the U. of Chicago..
All is well with the world
xxoo Pat

Hi Pat,

Okay...I called the doctor's office that you and Cynthia recommended. They asked for all reports before we set anything up. I am driving up to my doctor's office on Thursday and the insurance woman wants to 'hand them to me directly'. I told the doctor's secretary that I would be able to fax them by Friday and she will be in contact with me. Also, they DO accept Medicaid...thank God! :)

I am still baffled by the idea that no biopsy was performed. Maybe my doctor feels he did guess and was right...? I do not know. I am not really free to contact him directly; I am just consistently sent to women that are not nurses in the office to discuss my reports.

To clarify, I think that the money for the records was thrown out there to scare me but I do not believe (I could find I am wrong!) they will charge me for five pages on Thursday when I pick them up; I certainly hope not.

I explained a little of the situation and whom I have been in contact with so I will let you all know what happens next. Well, I guess I am hoping everything is alright--but, who wouldn't be hoping that?

Thank you for your replies. I will be in touch!

Trisha....truly who knows whats in there...he burnt everything off and didn't get a sample for pathology. Only a seer can determine what and if you have bladder cancer by just looking.
He can make a good guess but only the pathology will tell the truth.
Transitional cells and squamous cells are the names given to the cells that line the walls of the bladder. Transitional cells can vary in shape depending on whether the tissue is being stretched. These cells can be stretched without breaking. Squamous cells are flat and appear similar to fish cells when viewed under a microscope.

More than 90 percent of bladder cancer cases begin in the transitional cells. Bladder cancer in the transitional cells is called transitional cell carcinoma. Roughly eight percent of bladder cancer patients have squamous cell carcinoma, in which the bladder cancer is located in the squamous cells
Who knows what you have which is why you need to move on to someone who actually has some expertise in the field of urology...not an oncologist(an oncologist does not do biopsy's)....a urologist first. A top urologist and we'll try our best to get you one.
Don't worry yet....The Advocacy Group, The Ombudsman,...someone will work on your belhaf and in the meantime start with the name i gave you and see if they will take medicare.
I can't believe they're charging you to give you your reports that belong to you....Advocacy will help you with that also.
Hang in there..........Pat
