Gee Mind4u...you're only about 2 hrs from the top bladder cancer hospital in the country at Memorial Sloan. I live in Ohio and thats where i went for my second opinion and re-turb due to the local not getting enough of a sample and leaving margins to re-seed. They have so many top uro/surgeons in the field......Dr. Harry Herr (probably the most famous..he actually did mine)

This is a highly specialized field and you want the best.

No treatment should be determined until the pathology report is in. If you are Stage 2 into the muscle you sure don't want BCG. If the surgeon did not get enough of the detrusor muscle i would say get a second opinion on the pathology and a second TURB by another surgeon. The path report is yours...call the hospital where it was done and ask for it..they must give it to you.
Tell us where you are.

Hi. I was recently newly diagnosed with a 4cm tumor. I just had my first turbt to remove it. My doctor is telling me that he is optimistic for me to be stage 1 but I may be stage 2. He seemed to be saying the muscle is
"sort of" involved? I am going to ask for a copy of the pathology report this week, when I go for BCG, to try and understand. Has anyone ever heard of such inconclusive muscle involvement pathology report?
