You are amazing. And I bet you have a pretty good handle on all the things you're researching. Again, my best wishes.

Dear Pat,

I am not sure what any of that jargon means....I am sure though you will be an expert before too long.

Obviously this is very concerning and I wish you all the very best for your appointment at MSK.

Thinking of you.

"abreast" I bet you couldn't wait to use that pun. (groan) I hope you can get what you want from MSK. You are sure having a steep learning curve with a new cancer. At least it doesn't seem to be a spread from TCC. Hugs and prayers, Julie

OMG.....this so brings back memories of when i was first researching bladder cancer...the terror...what the heck am i reading...does it apply to me...what the heck is aberrant E-Cadherin staining patterns..Gene CDHI on Chromosone 16g22 and on and on?????????????HELP...I did recognise P-53...i know i used to have that.
Anyway pathology came back with
Invasive Mammary Carcinoma w/lobular and ductal components
(couldn't have just one of those could I?)
Estrogen positive receptor
HER 2 Negative
Aromatase inhibitors which i have read all about and don't like one bit.
BUT..my proliferation rate is below 10%...i think thats good.
It still sucks tho!!
Anyway plan is to look intelligent in front of local surgeon on Friday and then to pick up all my stuff and head to MSK with an appointment with a surgeon either on the 28th or the 4th...i can get a better flight rate on the 4th. They do have medical rates but the deal is you have to call 3 days ahead of time and it could actually be higher instead of lower.....makes sense huh? The surgeon they put me with is without a doubt a great surgeon but her specialty and research interests is in studies of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer caused by mutations in the BRCA genes...huh?
Anyway the surgeon i want happens to be the Chief of Breast Services and is booked waaaay out.....but i'm going to see if i can pull any strings anywhere to get in to see her.
So here i sit in terror and trying to digest an entirely new vocabulary of medical terminology but on the up side i can now wear 2 ribbons..orange and pink and possibly steal money from the pinkies to bring over to the orangies!..I'll think of something.
Thank you all for all the encouraging words and loving responses. I will keep you "abreast":S
love Pat

Pat

So sorry to hear your news. Where's that Rose garden we were promised?! Dang it.

My wife is a breast cancer survivor. This too can be overcome. Our thoughts are with you.

Pat,
My heart goes out to you with having to go through more trials and tribulations with another cancer.

As I have enjoyed your advice and kind direction, the ones that will benefit the most will be those Women that will experience your intelligence and passion as you learn the world of Breast cancer.

I do not think that your mission with us fellow Bladder Cancer forum users is over; however I know you will need to concentrate most your effort on your new mission.

Always Take Care
Rick
