I'm surprised you had any pain with the procedure........If done correctly you shouldn't have felt a thing. Dr. Mark Shoenberg from Johns Hopkins also has a great book you should read. Be VERY informed. The top doctors who perform this surgery all know one another and are happy to share information. If you do one thing...go to a major Cancer Hospital at least for a second opinion. It saved my life.

Hi, The Wife,
Thank you for posting the link to the book. My sister was diagnosed last week--and I just found out today. I'm going to check out the book on amazon.com (my vice).

Already she is saying things like, "I'm not going to do this or that" as in radiation or chemo. The first doc recommended bladder removal; second opinion is Tuesday next.

Best to be thoroughly informed, IMO. That's what I'd want to do if it were me. She's only 50. A smoker since her early teens.

Some good has to come of all this.

I ordered it yesterday, it was in stock and I chose 2 day delivery so I should get it in time to write down all of our questions for the December 4th appointment.

See, once again, you ARE great!!!
