It's a good thing we have that bossy control freak Greg to keep us in line Elaine ;D

I am coming home at night to sleep during this hospital stay for Mr C. During the MRSA hospitalization I didn't sleep in my own house for two weeks and sure enough I got so run down I ended up with pneumonia and landed my self into uselessness for a whole week. [smiley=thumbdown.gif]

December will be a long month so I am smart enough this time to store my energy [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

The nurse is under the impression that he may have surgery to remove it.  Time will tell.

Hi Bubbles,

I think if they go down this route that might well be a possibility with a flexi - it would take a while but all that is needed is a vacuum pipe that would slowly break up and evacuate the blood clot until it is gone (in the main) then care to ensure it is not connected to a largish capilliary in the wound from the site of his 10cm. reduction :-? [one of the emoticons really should have crossed eyes and gritted teath ;) ]

IF a neo bladder is the route that you are to go down to ensure defence against spread of the cancer - whatever kind of problem they are faced with IN the bladder must not be seen as a threat so panic not.

I hope you have woken to better weather and a better day - always assuming you got any sleep :'(

Turkey or no turkey - I hope you are taking care of yourself.

In the light of Wendy's comment about caring - it is interesting to note that a friend of mine's father spent many years researching cancer and they did prove, again and again - that if you randomly disrupted the sleep patterns of chickens and stressed them by flashing lights and noise - within a year a high proportion developed cancers!

Alternatively he may have proved that running around like a headless chicken is never a very good idea ;D

Good luck today and remember those warm hands ;)

Regards,
Greg L-W.
PS

They didn't start the irrigation set up and until he squirted and pulled for the good 30 minutes.

With a TURKEY BASTER surely this moves into the realms of pervesrion ;D I know clubs in Morrocco and Rio where they charge for such services :o
Well I guess it is not really what the rest of America was giving Thanks for :-[

Hi Greg
Not sure why it was so painful but I am assuming the pulling from the syringe was possibly unattaching the clot from any part that may have been somewaht attached to the wall.  Mr C was not only grimacing.  He was uncontrollably shaking, sweating and about to slap me if I told him to take deep breaths thru his nose and then blow out from his lips one more time.

They didn't start the irrigation set up and until he squirted and pulled for the good 30 minutes.  Then they put the irrigation set up in place and that itself has not been painful.

The nurse is under the impression that he may have surgery to remove it.  Time will tell.

I will not hit the sauce even though a Razzberri Stoli would be yummy right now.  I know better.  Plus we are having horrible weather tonight.  Driving wind and rain.  Very bad driving without the alcohol factor added in.

Go to bed.  I sure I'll have more news in the AM........

As usual.......Thanks my friend

Hi,

well I'm glad of that you sound a bit more relaxed   :)

Yes I will remeber this Thanksgiving.........I hate when you are always right!   :P

It sure isn't because I wanted to be  :(

It will also be easily remembered because I thought the irigation instrument looked like a Turkey baster.

The things you can do with a Turkey baster  :-[

It was just so painful and I would rather endure the pain than see Mr C have to deal with it.

I am a bit confused as I can't see why it hurt  :-/
If they had put him onto a double Cath and run 30 - 60 pints of fluid through clearing Cath if she got blocked - it just shouldn't hurt :-/

The continous flow irrigation is of course mcuh less painful but they are not sure it is "doing " the trick.

Constant flow does keep the acidity down, ensures no pressure in the bladder, permits the kidneys to drain without backup - had he been on constant irrigation no such clot would have formed >:(

Mr C at least has morphine at his disposal so that is keeping calm and a bit goofy.

So nothing new there then  ;D

He asked me how his moustache looked and I said Why?  He said "Is it still under my nose?......who needs the bong to relax and hallucinate.   :D

I sort of remember the day I had my nephrectomy - Lee was in the hospital when they brought me up from recovery and Janet [the sister responsible for me who I have known ever since] said to Lee "Greg's just coming back up onto the ward give me a moment and I'll sort him out a bit and you can come in" - Lee said "I have known him a while I've seen him rough too" ::)

So Lee came in with Janet and of course I was covered in tapes and drains and blood etc. Janet said "Do you want me to move your head you look a bit uncomfortable/" to which I am told I replied "Only on one condition" Janet was a bit surprised asking what I meant and I said "Only if it is still attached" & Mr. Woodie was interested where his moustache was  ;)

I am writing from my office right now.  I actual did some paperwork that I never can seem to keep up with.

I think working in your office on Thanksgiving is, under these circumstances, called displacement activity  8-)

I'll make sure Mr C is all set for the night and then go home and chill.    [smiley=bath.gif] [smiley=beer.gif]

Which is the .gif for 'wish you were here  ;) but perhaps you'd better stick to warm hands  ;D - as for the beer NO you never know if you may have to leap in the wheels and all you need now, being stressed AND tired is an auto stop for drink drive  :-[

So how was your Turkey??  :question

Hey you forget we don't do Thanksgiving in Britain - we weren't dying of indollence and theft as escapees to a foreign land, nor were we dying of famine for lack of sensible effort and because the firast settler in America functioned on a socialist/communist principle which like all communist/socialist principles breeds indollence and dissent  :'(

The first successful harvest in America was the year after it was decided to ditch the socialist/communist concepts and permit the settlers have exclusivity of parcels of land each and trade surpluses socialism almost destroyed America as the people starved and it was the capitalism of ownership and trade that only just saved the people in time!

The chocolate box Janet & John style history is as ever very wide of the mark as Politicians put their spin on history and it rarely resembles the truth in the hands of Politicians - well scum always rises >:(

I am glad that all seems a little less scarey - well done I knew you could deal with it - just know your hands are warm ;)

Did we enjoy our Turkey - more to the point - when did you last eat?  :-[

Well done Bubbles
Greg & Lee
