Hi, Newbie08 -- When I had my first turbt, the doctor came out and told my husband and son "what it looked like" (he told me, too, after I woke up). In my case, there was an initial pathology report and a second one (at another facility and more tests were done on the sample). So it is hard to choose one day in advance. As a person who probably has at least workaholic tendencies, I can understand wanting to
limit days off to the most important one in the normal flow of life events, but I
wonder if this situation might not be an exception -- in the context of your whole life, do you think you could possibly take both days? Of course, there's always the risk that afterwards you'll feel it wasn't worth the cost, disruption, etc. If it is one or the other, as long as at least one family member is there for both, I guess it is your choice. Will the stress of "operating day" be when more support is needed or will it be when your family tires to "hear" and understand the sometimes confusing language of the pathology report?
I'll be thinking of you and your family -- Susan
