The top 10 or 15 do vary depending what list they are off of. But this isn't the key you know they are good hospitals whether it is #4 or #20 and then as Pat said go to the hospital websites and find your Dr's do your homework. Like this I chose the Univ of Penn then I found the Dr's I wanted starting with my Uro/Oncologist, Oncologist, and my Surgeon. Joe ;)

This is the trio of Dr's that saved my life and they all have quite a list of protocols and the best part they are all so down to earth and everyone of them would answer any question I had and never once rushed me through an appointment.

Well...my advise is to go to the web sites of all of these hospitals and look up the physicians profiles in genitourinary cancers....or urology ..or however they are listed...and specifically see who deals with bladder cancer...then to further that thought ..female bladder cancer.......you will find lots of Prostate specialists..narrow it down.

I think I am just so tired I can't sleep. I almost dosed off once and the phone rang. heck, I asked the doctor last week if I could go to work on Friday...She said yea...Of course I am taking off especially since I may still be having the pain and bleeding off and on.from My hx of General anestesia for outpt laps.... I would have surgerys on Fridays and even going to work on mondays was tuff sometimes. One thing they different this time was I always ask for xtra nausua RX..this time they put a patch behind my ear and I don't feel as goggy as I do with the IV stuff they use.

Good luck next week. my thoughts and prayers will be with you and I will keep an eye out for you.

4/17/08 Had Turbt today with Mitomycin - no stent needed. I really don't know anything different then before because but I'm scheduled for a "conference" appointment with the uro next thursday. the nurse said that it is at a time that the doc can really sit down and talk with me and not worry about time. that makes me a little worried but I am still trying to stay positive. I told my parents they could come to that appoint and I have a doctor friend that I keep hearing wants to come too.

Turbt went fine... but holy moly- Using the bathroom the 1st time AGHHH :o It still is painful, it gets less painful then out of the blue krippy. It is not anything I can't handle though ;)

My thanks to all that have been so supportive to me and others.

Thanks Becky, That does make me feel better...that I am not totally crazy. I am sorry though that you have it and the reocurrences. Luckily, most of my close friends are in the medical field and they are asking to come to my appts. So between them and my parents (who live in VA) I should have a clear understanding from here on out. Thanks a bunch for your reply and I will let everyone know what I find out after surgery on Thursday. I just can not express how thankful I am to have found this website. While I have many friends and the best family...I feel like I have an extended family of people that truly understand and that means alot.
Susan
