KC...Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center is part of the National Comp. Cancer Network and has an excellent reputation. Here is one uro/surgeon who seemingly has done a lot of research on the older patient and cystectomy..look to bottom of page to access these articles........www.vicc.org/dd/display.php?id=4317
If you want to take a look at the other specialists check out this page

Good luck to you and your mom..........Pat

Mom has CIS - RC, where to go? was created by CattailGal
My Mom, now 79, had superficial bladder cancer 4 years ago. About 6 - 8 months ago, CIS was diagnosed. It has been resistant to two cycles of treatment (BCG and the BCG with the extra meds), so RC is recommended. We are in NE Tenn, where doc doesn't do a lot of these. Where should she go to get the best care? I understand it is recommended to go to the center and doctor who does the most of these. She made an appt at Vanderbilt for next week for a consultation.

This was found on a recheck, she is symptom free, and otherwise extremely active and healthy (other than high BP and cholesterol).

I would appreciate any guidance/recommendations. Thank you.
