I think things are under control now.  The pain is bearable with codeine and I am stretching the dose out some.  Motrin helps a lot.  I am scheduled to go to the urologist Tuesday for the results of the TURB and am very nervous.  I find myself dwelling on it more than I should.   I am still having differing degrees of nausea but I assume it may be due to something other than the bladder cancer.  I just want to thank everyone here for all the support, suggestions and help that you have given me since I first posted.  You people have really helped me get through this.  I hope and pray that Tuesday will be better news and we can get on with finding results for the rest of my physical problems!  I sat outside today for a bit and found it a little surreal.  The last time I can remember feeling well was last spring, planting flowers in my garden.  Now the sugar maples are showing signs of red leaves!!  Thank you all and I will let you know what I find out Tuesday.  Wish me luck and special thanks to Linda  and Roni.  Elaine

Elaine,

I would most definately tell the person you speak to about the abdomen pain and bruising, as I'm not sure I've ever heard of bruising like that.  Doesn't mean it couldn't happen, especially if you're a very small person.  Don't let my saying I'd not heard of that problem frighten you, it could be just one of the many possible variables.  As we all learn, each and everyone of us is different, our diseases are different (grade & stage & type), and we all respond to treatments differently. But it is very important to tell them when we're concerned about something, especially if that something is causing so much pain.  By the way, you are not a whimp!

Ok. Thanks to you all, the pain in my bladder is under control. Still on pain killers but they are working now. Nurse said to also take motrin in between to get rid of inflamation. I got constipated from the pain pills and was getting more pain in my mid abdomen. Finally took some ex lax and got things moving today. However, it is VERY tender to the upper right of my bladder along my right hip bone. Swollen all across my abdomen from hip bone to hip bone. Just under my belly button. The nurse said the doctor had to do extensive scraping and cuaterizing... could this pain in my abdomen just be from trauma of that? Or from the constipation? I'm almost out of pain pills so I have to call the nurse tomorrow, (today... it is 2am now), because I don't want to go the weekend without any. Should I mention this other pain by my hip bone? I don't understand what about a TURB could make other areas of my abdomen hurt too. Did anyone have such a rough first TURB? ........ Lauren, I'm not going to worry about the size now. I hope it turns out as well as yours. Thanks to each of you for responding and making me feel like I have help... Elaine

My papillary tumor was HUGE, my surgeon said he didnt' understand how I didn't pee every 5 minutes, it was taking up so much room in my bladder. It was like a stalk of brocolli. :o.. however, the pathology came back TaG1, and my first six month scope was completely clean, other than a little too much scar tissue had grown...

So don't worry about size - it didn't matter, in my case!!!  Wishing you lots of luck.

Lauren
