Thanks Barb.....i'm just pondering why he did not biopsy the tumor in the bladder considering your history? Are you close to MD Anderson? Pat

Patricia, I guess I really didn't fill in alot of the spaces in between. I had a CT scan which discovered the mass on my kidney. I then went into surgery where they did a cystoscopy on me and at that point there was nothing in the bladder. When I went for a checkup 3 months later he found the tumor and did the procedure in office, I had it cauterized off. Now it's back. I did not have anything done at MD Anderson just a consult. I hope this helps explain a little better.

Barb..i'm just curious why they didn't do a cystoscopy when your kidney cancer was discovered? And an in office TURB without pathology after you've had kidney cancer? Who did you see at MD Anderson? Pat

P.S. I went to MD Anderson in Houston for a second opinion and my Dr. is doing the right things. Found out he did his residency there, made me feel even better.

Hello everyone, glad I found this site and have been reading your posts. This past July I was diagnosed with transitional Cell carcinoma of the kidney and had my left one removed. 3 months later I went in for my 1st cystoscopy and my urologist found a cancerous tumor. We did the in office TURB and I went home. Then last wed. on my next 3 month checkup he discovered another tumor was back, in a different spot in my bladder. There was also some lumpy looking area?? Anyone know anything about the lumpy thing, what it means? So we decided to go into surgery, which I do next Tues. He is going to biopsy the lumpy area and take the other tumor out and start mitomycin into my bladder.
I am just fed up with it returning and it seems like I will be dealing with it for years to come. So any advice would be great. This is my first round with chemo and I have tried to read everything I can. I am trying to keep a positive attitude but... Look forward to any feedback.
