Worried...

I had a IVP yesterday and it does show a blocking at the left ureter to the bladder. I will have a cysto next week to see if this is scar tissue or is it protein formation of the BCG that has formed. If it is scar formation I will need a stent again. My cytology and FISH from last weeks cysto were both normal. The biopsy however "showed abnomal architectural and cytologic changes, however the changes fall short of the diagnostic criteria for an unequivocal diagnosis of CIS/sever dysplasia." The pathology report indicated careful monitoring is recommended.

My urologist when he is checking next week for the scar tissue will take another biopsy of the area, just a little deeper. He believes that the abnormal changes could be from the BCG protein formation and not cancer.

Anyone else experience this?

:)Yesterday went in for my first follow up Cysto since my Dx and surgery in December 07. I was put under for a short period of time with anesthesia and had little side effects after. My doctor said that everything looks good. He does want me to have an IVP to check for hydronephrosis as the location of the tumor removal and scar tissue is near the opening where the kidney drains into the bladder. He doesn't think there is an issue but just wants to make sure. I did have a stent for 2 weeks after my initial surgery in December.

Had my 6th treatment yesterday with only some frequency as a side effect. Now scheduled for 04/15/08 for my 1st cysto after my initial surgery. My doctor sedates his patients in case a biopsy is needed.

Thanks Joe

Just wanted everyone to know that I have completed 5 BCG treatments with the only side effect of frequency for a short period of time. I have my 6th this Friday. I am receiving the treatment because of the size of my tumor 4 cm x 3 cm x .6 cm. Tumor weighed less than 1 gram and was low grade TA. I will need to ask the doctor if I will need the maintenance if there is no recurrence.

Thanks to everyone for there support.
