Sorry the read about the shortage. BCG was also short sometime again in the past 18 months however I was under impression that was solved. I personally believe BCG is the best agent for a variety of reasons. At the same time bladder washes are done with mitomycin and other "chemo" agents and they also have had some success. I would do as much research as you can online and with your URO's office as I am not really up to speed with the alternative agents plus perhaps someone else will read this and have more info.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

I have a family member with non invasive bladder cancer, and was first treated with BCG. Now the doctor say BCG is difficult to obtain in our area (we live in Puerto Rico, USA) and he will have to change the treatment to intravenous chemo. Is it true that BCG is hard to obtain? What are the effects of changing to intravenous chemo?
