The long air flights are a problem. If you don't build in a recovery day in your itinerary, you start out really tired.

Planning a trip to Papua New Guinea later this summer that starts with a loooooong flight to Sidney. Almost
having second thoughts!

Welcome back Sara Anne,

Your absence was noted, but I figured it was part of a "Beat BC and See the World" event.

Great way to show that there is life after a diagnosis of BC.

Best,
Jack

Absolutely!! Practically everyplace we went had something to do with the Silk Road! I remember how in the Eastern US every place has a marker that "George Washington slept here." Well, in Central Asia everyplace was visited by Genghis Khan, and he was responsible for thousands of deaths in each place....

The Chinese are building a new "Silk Road" across many of the countries to be able to move their exports over land as well as the already-established sea routes. Tajikistan, in particular, has lovely new (toll) highways built by the
Chinese. Uzbekistan does NOT....they do not want the political entanglements that accompany such foreign "aid."
Interesting politics
