It is hard to second guess what the surgeon does and sees during surgery and remember cancer cells are not always possible to see visually. As far as treatment you will have to see what the recommendations are. We are not doctor and we do not know the specifics of the situation to even guess. If you are not at a center that does a high volume of bladder cancer a second opinion may be a good idea. If you tell us what state you are in I am sure you would get some good recommendations here for centers of excellence in bladder cancer. We are here if you need us.

My mother had a radical cysectomy two weeks ago. yesterday her test results came in and she has cancer in both ureters. My question is shouldn't they have done a uteroscopy before surgery to check if it was in ureters before surgery? it would have been a lot easier to know how far up the cancer cells are and easier to treat. Now that she has had the surgery I feel like it will be impossible to look inside the ureters and treat it.
