Thank you so much for your response!

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I went into Urgent care to see if the UTI cleared up and they found a lot of blood in the urine but no traces of an infection still putting me on antibiotics to be safe. The Doctor there looked over my Ultrasound since I had it in my purse. She told me it could be a polyp but wasn't sure.
I see the Urologist on Tuesday. I saw a different Urologist prior but he moved out of state so I'm seeing one of his Colleagues. I have a problem with my left kidney it's rare but the left renal vein closed a long time ago when I was young and the collateral veins have taken over.

I have to be kept an eye on for that as well once every six months. I see a nephrologist as well for the kidney.

I will be sure to keep you updated after I see the Urologist.

One question?

I hate stents and I know each time they do a cystosocpy they have to put a stent up there to protect the ureter and my left kidney. I read in order for a doctor to take a look they have to do a Cystoscopy. A Stent is very painful for me and unbearable.

Is it like this for anybody else?

Hello Lisa... Welcome to our forum. I am glad they discovered your UTI and you are seeing a urologist right away. As far as your scan, try not to jump to "bladder cancer" right away. It could be a fibroid and more often they are benign from what I have read. Of course, anything in our body that's not supposed to be in there causes more than a little worry.

It is our nature to fear the worst case scenario but I am hoping that yours is something that can be addressed quickly so that you can get on with your life and look back at this as a hiccup along the way.

Please let us know how things go with your uro appointment. Wishing you well...

Best wishes... Catherine

Some questions regarding a Renal Ultrasound? was created by limichelle31
Hello,

I am a 31 year old female and I was recently admitted to the hospital due to something else when they found a UTI and decided to do a Renal ultrasound. This is what came back:

A well-circumscribed hypoechoic structure adjacent to the right posterolateral aspect of the urinary bladder. This measures 1.9 cm in greatest diameter and does not contain internal blood flow.

Any advice on deciphering this?
The Hospitalist told me it's a dark shadow on the bladder that needs further investigation as it could possibly be a mass.

I am seeing a Urologist next week.
Thanks,

Lisa
