Cynthia,

Thank you so very much for answering my question.

With a positive result on one out of three he wanted to send me to another specialist, but I have had several of the tests come back positive. I did not stop taking baby aspirin, so he said we would re-do next month.

Sometimes you just wonder how much is really necessary?????

Again thank you.

Hi Silk,
Gee my OB/GYN does the test every year...i don't think it makes a difference whether you have a real bladder or neo or whatever. The test is sometimes given with a neo or other diversion if you are symtomatic....but
There can be false-positive and false-negative results. Using the right collection technique, avoiding certain drugs, and observing food restrictions can reduce errors. And even with the positive ones they often don't find the reason??
I know you probably know all this stuff but i'll throw it out there anyway as I didn't realize Vitamin C could alter the test. Silly me.

Neo Bladder and Yearly Checkup was created by Silk
Hi to all,

It has been 2 years since bladder removal and neo bladder.

New question, since I am having my annual check-up before seeing "neo" surgeon::

My GP wants a stool Guaiac test which is just part of yearly check-up. Is this a test that should be done with a neo-bladder????

I know you have to watch your diet, etc. before and during the test since I have had one test in the past since my bladder removal and out of the 3 tests (done 3 consecutive days) one had a positive reading.

Hopeing to get some feed-back before yearly check-up next month.

For all that have helped me in the past few years on this site, a thank you from the bottom of my heart. My surgeon was so right when he recommended this site to me for advise, feedback, and others who have and are going through BC.
