Sometimes referred to as (Superficaial Bladder Cancer) is when the cancer cells are contained in the bladder lining and have not invaded the muscle of the bladder.
Non-Invasive bladder Cancer is the most common to be diagnosed with over 70% being found at this stage. According to the American Society of Clinical Onoclogy the five year survial rate for no-invasive bladder cancer is 93%.
Like all cancer your treatment path will be determined by many factors such as stage, grade and if the treatment is for reaccurant non-invasive bladder cancer or a first occurance.
For some the only treatment that may be recommended will be the procedure called the transurethral resection (TURBT).

Depending on your diagnosis following your TURBT your Urologist may recommend a treatment plan using intravesical therapy. Intravesical therapy is when an anti cancer agent is instilled through a cathether directly into the bladder.

Again due to the high rate of reoccurrence associated with non-invasive bladder cancer it is very important to talk to your doctor about and comply with their recommendations for rechecks. Reoccurrences that are caught early are the most treatable but left undetected could progress to more serious disease.
