emo UM’s clinical trial for new bladder cancer drug

I sincerely pray that this is a cure on the horizon:

www.miamiherald.com/2011/08/16/2362198_p2/ums-clinical-trial-for-new-bladder.html

“The drug has two Components, a protein part and a chemotherapy part. The protein portion binds to the cancer cell’s receptors and gets internalized inside the cells. When the drug is internalized, then the chemo part gets inside the cell and destroys the cancer cells.”

Side effects are greatly reduced as compared to traditional chemotherapy which can lead to severe nausea and hair loss.

That would be a huge step forward if this proves successful. I so hope that Mr. Chambers has a wonderful result from this trial.

Re:UM’s clinical trial for new bladder cancer drug

Here is another article about the same University of Miami trial with a video:
www.nbcmiami.com/news/New-Cancer-Drug-Developed-at-UM-127900303.html

Though it is being used for cases involving metastasis, might it be applicable to all bladder cancer ultimately?
I don\'t know much about this kind of thing, but it seems that something killing BC throughout one\'s body should be able to kill BC locally too.
At least it seems that this may be a step toward developing an application for localized treatment.

It may someday, but these things tend to take some time. Certainly sounds promising at this point. Let\'s hope it progresses quickly and continues to show good results.
